Oklahoma Celtic Family,

I hope you enjoyed a relaxing Spring Break. I wanted to take a moment to share a few updates on what’s happened, what’s coming up at the club, as well as highlighting some special achievements!

The energy around the club is high, and there has never been a better time to be part of what we’re creating. From our coaching staff to our player pathways, everything is aligning for a huge year ahead.

Thank you for your continued support and for everything you do to help our players and teams succeed!

Looking Back!

Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Center Celtic Cup Tournament

We started the spring season by hosting our biggest-ever tournament. The OSC Celtic Cup hosted 273 teams.

Congrats to all the teams that had success on and off the pitch, and thank you to all our staff who contributed to this event!

Junior Academy Program – U6

Our Junior Academy Program is off to a great start, and we appreciate the families who completed the recent survey. The feedback was positive, with parents sharing that their players are “having a blast and learning so much.”

For more information about the junior academy program, please visit: oklahomaceltic.com/programs/junior-academy/

We are extremely excited to announce that our top U13-U19 girls competitive teams will play in the Girls Academy at the start of the 26/27 season.

The Girls Academy is a top-tier platform that will provide our female players with pathways to high-level competition, development, and exposure.

More information will be provided to our families shortly, but for more information about the Girls Academy, please visit here: Girls Academy

US Youth National Team ID Center

Huge congratulations to Katie King, who has been invited back to the U.S. YNT ID Center for the THIRD time!

U.S. Soccer Talent ID Centers are opportunities for top talent to train and play games under the direction of U.S. Soccer Talent Identification Managers.

Niall Burley (Technical Director) & Danny Gibson (Boys Competitive Director) attended the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) AGM in Vegas at the start of the year. During one of the presentations, our former player, Alex Gutierrez, was highlighted.

Alex started playing for Celtic at the U9 age group in our Academy Program and is one of our newest alumni to reach the big stage. He first signed a professional contract with Club Necaxa and was recently acquired by Cruz Azul for a significant transfer fee. Alex has also had the honor of representing Mexico at the U17 national team level.

“None of this would’ve happened without Oklahoma Celtic and the ECNL RL” – Alex

Our top U13-U19 boys competitive teams will continue to play in the ECNL-RL, in the 26/27 season.

Another former Celtic player, Zion Siranga, who joined Celtic at the age of 14 in the ECNL-RL, has signed his first professional contract with FC Tulsa!

“Oklahoma Celtic welcomed me at 14 and gave me the opportunity to grow as a player and regain confidence in myself. Without the club, coaches, and teammates supporting me throughout a crucial period in my life, I wouldn’t be half the player I am today.” – Zion

Zion and Alex were teammates on the 2008 Boys ECNL-RL team that won the National Championship in 2023!

Congrats to the following players that have signed to play college ball this coming fall season:

ODP Player of the Year – Olivia Foster

So proud to celebrate Olivia Foster, who has been named the Oklahoma ODP Player of the Year.

The purpose of the Olympic Development Program (ODP) is to identify players through open tryouts and develop them to represent their state, region, and the United States in soccer competition.

A huge honor and a well-deserved recognition!

Our Celtic players got to experience playing on John Crain’s Field and had such a great time at the OU Women’s Soccer Clinic. Thank you to OU Women’s Soccer for putting on such a fun and engaging experience.
